Workplace Training

Whether you are an entrepreneur of a small business or a CEO of a Fortune 500 company, you can bring Red Cross life-saving training to your business. Our safety training:
  • Features new first aid and CPR techniques
  • Meets federal and state requirements
  • Is taught by certified instructors
  • Uses DVD, lecture, demonstration, discussion and plenty of hands-on practice

Work with the American Red Cross Kern Chapter to create a culture of preparedness within your organization. From first aid, CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) training to disaster preparedness education, the Red Cross offers complete, flexible training programs that help you stay prepared for virtually any life-threatening situation.

Full-Service Workplace Training
A Red Cross instructor can come to your facility and train your employees at a time that works for you – daytime, evenings or weekends. Available training modules include half-day and full-day first aid, CPR and AED courses, and one-hour personal disaster preparedness modules.

American Red Cross injury-control modules are a series of one-hour, awareness-level modules on topics that can help you reduce costly on-the-job injuries and let your employees know you care about their health and well-being.

Each one-hour session includes a self-assessment to help employees recognize risky habits, plus skill demonstrations and lively discussions that reinforce practical prevention tips.

Ergonomics
Participants learn to reduce the risk of repetitive stress injuries by improving posture, rearranging work areas, using proper tools and doing simple exercises.

Slips, Trips and Falls
Topics include the causes of accidents and remedies for common hazards, plus practical advice on shoe selection, ladder safety and injury prevention programs.

Back Injury Prevention
Beginning with back anatomy, participants assess the causes of their back pain and learn how posture, stretching and safe lifting skills can reduce the risk of injury.

Workplace Violence Awareness
Realistic scenarios help participants recognize and reduce the risk of impending workplace violence and learn ways to improve their personal safety and security.

Managing Stress
Discussions focus on the cause of stress to help individuals recognize their stressors and develop practical stress-reduction strategies for work and personal lives.

Your Heart Matters/Act in Time to Heart Attack Signs
Targeting key lifestyle factors, such as smoking, diet and exercise, this module helps people take steps to adopt healthier behaviors and reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. Act in Time to Heart Attack Signs is also available as a great complement to Your Heart Matters. This comprehensive seminar covers heart attack health, prevention of heart disease and how to recognize the signs of a heart attack and respond within the first few minutes.
